Award-winning triathlon kit designers HUUB is featuring in an international campaign to celebrate British innovation.
The “GREAT for Imagination” campaign is an initiative marking the 400th anniversary of the grant of British patent number one and celebrates UK innovation over the past four centuries, covering everything from film and fashion through to energy and engineering.
‘GREAT For Imagination’ is supported by the Intellectual Property Office and the government’s GREAT Britain Campaign.
The initiative highlights a wide range of companies who have developed significant IP in Britain and is promoted on digital and outdoor media to 144 countries worldwide.
Derby-based HUUB has scientifically developed a wide range of triathlon wetsuits and kit which are specially designed to maximise performance and comfort and are worn by some of the world’s top athletes and para athletes.
These include Team GB stars Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, Richard Varga who was the first out of the water in Rio 2016 sporting a HUUB tri-suit that was developed to be hydrodynamically superior; and Paralympian athlete ‘Hurricane’ Hannah Cockroft MBE.
HUUB has worked with a fellow Derby business, patent specialists Swindell & Pearson to apply for patents to protect the new technologies devised for the company’s Albacore wetsuits as well as new arm movement and body alignment innovations.
HUUB Founder and Owner Dean Jackson said: “We are honoured to be part of this great campaign which is applauding UK innovation across the centuries and today.
“Our kit is all about form, fit and performance. We believe quite simply that we have delivered what competitors want – backed by scientific research into, amongst others, hydrodynamics and swim stroke analysis.”
