Swim Serpentine 2018 entries now open

Thousands of swimmers will have the chance to swim in beautiful open water at Swim Serpentine. Lake Serpentine at Hyde Park was the venue for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The open water swimming festival organised by London Marathon Events will take place on Saturday 22nd September 2018.

The event caters for all abilities, from the first-timer to the expert, with a range of distances. Choose from a half-mile swim perfect for those wishing to try out an open water swimming event for the first time. The one-mile swim is the classic distance and the most popular, with most swimmers taking anything from 20 minutes to one hour to complete the swim. The two-mile swim is more challenging, perfect for more experienced swimmers who want to test themselves. Entries for the super six event will open slightly later. This is for swimmers looking to ‘go long’ at Swim Serpentine.

Entrants in the one and two-mile swim can choose their wave and start time so they can make the most of the day and the different activities on offer within the festival area. The half-mile event takes place at 8.30am. All swimmers in the mass-participation mile must wear either a wetsuit or use a tow-float.

You can hire a HUUB wetsuit for the event here, and you have the option of a season or two-week hire. To avoid disappointment, please be advised that hire wetsuits should be ordered online before the event as we will have limited stock on the day and cannot guarantee to have your size. Hire wetsuits cannot be returned on the day of the event.
